Soviet Tanks Mid-War

Looks like the TANKS site updated before FoW gave away the new models. KV1 (and option to build KV1s) and early model T-34 with the big hatch. They have the cards up on the page as well. Along with all the lend-lease repackaging, Valentines, Churchills, Lee's, and Stuarts.

Date given is August and September, so by October we should see these in stores, and maybe the Stalingrad sets for FoW released in possibly July if the schedule follows from similar releases. Have to say I'm excited, and now I don't have to find a US seller for the Zvezda KV1.

They have released the KV1, and to my opinion, they overdid it on the KV-1. They have given the KV-1 a hefty 8 hull points with 2 defence dice - making it a cheap poor-gunned IS-2. Okay, you may argue that it had frontal armour 90mm, but that was only a maximum. Side armour was around 70mm, so giving it a "heavy tank" rule as it is explained, I would not be able to justify it.... They have treated the 76.2mm gun as a 4 dice attack though, which somewhat seems correct with their previous works, so here I can agree.

Funny enough, my development for the T34/76 coincides with everything they did, in all but initiative, which is based on the way you look at it I guess...

As an unofficial cards developer, I am a bit disappointed at the moment, since they are developing new cards, which means what we make becomes useless and obsolete and no one really cares in the end anyway. I think this is the problem with big game companies, they really don't care any much. Tried to contact the rules developer personally through "board game geek" to share some of my thoughts for future releases - no luck, ignored, but not surprised with this either, I would guess he is downright busy with developing new things to keep afloat with income, since games development is his work. I am in the process of finding a play-test group that battle-front uses and listens to, it feels kind of bad that the developments we make are not looked at, and will be gone to waste. So if anyone knows where such a group exists, post it here such that we could be able to share our thoughts forth to the community.

FoW site had an update that I hadn't seen advertised anywhere, a platoon of late war plastic Churchills!

No card for the crocodile so once home stuff settles down some I'll have to play and create something good for it. Really excited for the plastics.

Cheers for that. Well, that obviously does indicate that the mighty Maus should be better than that - say around 16 hit points with 4 armour dice? Okay, that one is next on my list of "to-do" in such case...
